Polar bears are in trouble: the cold, Arctic environment they are used to is quickly vanishing due to climate change. Rising carbon emissions have contributed to global warming, causing sea ice to melt. Polar bears rely on sea ice for hunting, and without it their range and ultimately their population will disappear.
But hope is not lost! To help raise awareness for the struggles faced by these magnificent bears, Polar Bears International has made February 27th International Polar Bear Day. Take a look at their website where they offer a number of tips on how you can reduce your energy use to help lower carbon emissions, and slow down or even stop climate change.
